2 Down, 998 to Go

So, this was inspired by two pages of the amazing Webcomic "Hanna is Not a Boy's Name" (Specifically these two: [link] , [link] ) Brief sum up is that the amnesiac {...} (The Zombie guy) gets possessed and, while trapped inside his own mind, sees a paper crane that leads him to the spirit of the guy possessing him. While pondering the meaning of the crane, Hanna folds a crane while telling him of the "1000 paper cranes" legend, saying "Now it can mean something again."

Needless to say, it's possibly the single most heartwarming scene so far in the entire series.

There's a lot of symbolism in this picture - I managed to incorporate a cross (Just like Tessa does in all of her panels), the 1000 cranes legend, and the red string of fate. The last one actually fascinated me with the number of different ways it can be interpreted. The myth goes that it's tied around the ankles of those destined to be wed, but I see it in this case as a symbol of two destinies that are tied together. Hanna seems to do that - I reread a panel where one of Hanna's new comrades tells him that Hanna draws paranormal oddities to him.

Or maybe I did mean it romantically. Who knows? As I said, open to interpretation.

I'll try to get a better picture at some point, but it's a little hard when I can't scan this.
